On The Surface

On the Surface is a collaborative curatorial exhibition by Rosie Zielinski (curator of Withheld, April 2022 at Safehouse 2, Peckham), and Nigel Fovargue.

On the Surface will explore the multidisciplinary dialogues within contemporary practices which examine the tactile surface through texture, composition and material enquiry. The exhibition will be born out of an open call, with the intention of careful selection by both Rosie and Nigel of approximately 30 artists who explore the exhibition title within their own work.

On the Surface will be an opportunity to showcase emerging contemporary artists who have both recently graduated and established artists in order to encourage fresh conversations around the theme of surface within contemporary practice.
